Real Impact in Action
What began as a $20,000 lead gift grew into a $150,000 impact through a matching campaign with Green Capes Lions Club, supporting the development of a new Dog Guide training school and changing lives across Canada.

Lions of Manitoba step in wherever help is needed—supporting youth programs, improving access to vision and health services, responding during emergencies, caring for the environment, and fundraising for important community causes. Every project is powered by volunteers who care deeply about their neighbours and believe that when people come together to serve, real and lasting change happens.
Lions Quest Canada
At its heart, Lions Quest is all about helping kids grow into confident, capable, kind human beings. It gives teachers and communities the tools to support students not just academically, but emotionally and socially too—because we all know life skills matter just as much as test scores.
From kindergarten through high school, Lions Quest helps kids learn how to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, make good decisions, and become responsible citizens. It’s a globally recognized program, backed by decades of research, and used in more than 100 countries. Whether it’s through classroom lessons, hands-on activities, or community-based projects, Lions Quest helps young people thrive in today’s complicated world. And as Lions, we’re proud to support a program that builds stronger kids, stronger schools, and stronger communities.
Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides
Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is all about helping Canadians with disabilities live more confidently and independently, and they do it in the most heartwarming way—by pairing people with highly trained Dog Guides at absolutely no cost. The organization is based in Oakville, Ontario, with an additional breeding and training centre in Breslau, and they’re the only school in the country that trains dogs in seven different specialized programs.
From guiding individuals who are blind or visually impaired to supporting children with autism, assisting people with medical or physical needs, and so much more, these incredible dogs change lives every single day. It’s a program built on compassion, expertise, and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to move through the world with a trusted partner by their side.
Kid Sight
Many people assume vision problems only show up as we get older, but kids can struggle with eyesight too—and it’s more common than you might think. That’s why the Lions Foundation of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, together with local Lions Clubs, offers a fast, kid-friendly vision screening program.
Using a specialized camera designed for children as young as six months up to age six, the screening takes only a couple of minutes and lets parents know right away if their child should see an eye-care professional. The best part is that most issues found at this age can be easily corrected, but only if they’re caught early. Without early detection, those same problems can become much harder to fix later in life. This work is part of Lions KidSight, a worldwide program that helps ensure children get the screenings and follow-up care they need to learn and grow. After all, about 80% of a child’s learning depends on healthy vision—and every child deserves the best start possible.
